Shiitake (Lentinula edodes)

Shiitake is one of the most well-studied medicinal mushrooms in the world. Human studies show that it can measurably improve immune function and support healthy cholesterol levels, which is why it has been used both traditionally and in modern nutrition.

Shiitake contains natural compounds called beta-glucans, which have been shown in human trials to increase the activity of key immune cells, including natural killer (NK) cells and T-cells.
